Farhadi and Almodóvar part ways

Spanish film producer Agustín Almodóvar has announced leaving Asghar Farhadi’s underway production ‘Everybody Knows’.

Spanish film producer Agustín Almodóvar has announced leaving Asghar Farhadi’s underway production ‘Everybody Knows’ which is currently being filmed in Spain.

Almodóvar told media that there has been some miscommunication between him and the Iranian renowned filmmaker leading to his withdrawal from the project.

“I’m happy that the film is currently being shot in Spain and I will definitely go to watch it once it premiers,” he added. 

The initial shooting of ‘Everybody Knows’ had started in August, 2017, starring Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Ricardo Darin.

The film is the latest work by the Oscar-winning Iranian director of ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman’.

The 10 million Euros flick is structured as a co-production between Morena Films from Spain and Paris-based Memento Films Production.

“The film follows the journey of Carolina as she travels with her family from Buenos Aires to her hometown in Spain for a celebration. Meant to be a brief visit, the trip is disturbed by unforeseen events that will completely change the lives of Carolina and her family,” a brief synopsis for ‘Everybody Knows’ read.
